Fundamentals of Arbitrary Waveform Generation Ch. 1

My notes about the Agilent publication "Fundamentals of Arbitrary Waveform Generation" (2012)

Arbitrary Waveform Generators (AWG) were developed in the 1980's and compete with RF generators (possibly incl. modulation), analog function generators, and pulse train generators.

When comparing AWG's, you should look at their sampling rate, memory size, vertical resolution (bit depth of the DAC), analog BW (3dB BW of the output amp+filter), amplitude + DC-offset range, and number of channels.
